About MLS

What is MLS?
MLS stands for "Multiple Listing Service". MLS access is only granted to licensed Real Estate Professionals and not the public.
MLS guarantees maximum exposure
Over 90% of all properties sold in the United States are the result of MLS listing exposure. Being listed in MLS means all the local Realtors can find your home in their MLS database. Buyers can find your home on thousands of public MLS websites, where they are most likely to be searching for a home.
Why you need MLS
MLS listed properties (for sale by owner or not) sell faster and for more money than non-MLS listed properties. According to the NAR (National Association of Realtors), the typical (FSBO For Sale By Owner) home sold for $140,000 compared to $199,300 for agent-assisted home sales in 2010. That's 29.7% difference. The NAR statistics also show that only 14% of FSBO sellers sell within their planned length of time.
